HP 530
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Ladies and gentlemen,

this is my first post so let me say hello first. My name is Ray, 48 years, Munich, Bavaria.  I usually solve problems without need of much help, but today I am totally stuck. I have a quite old HP530 laptop computer, with Core 2 Duo T5200 processor and 4GB Ram. Intel 945GM chipset and graphics.  It came with windows XP then and worked fine for years. Then the harddrive went bad and I replaced it by a good one. Having to reinstall the system, I decided to go for win7 x64 ultimate edition. I have a valid license for it and read posts about successful upgrades.

What can I say, everything went smooth and straight. Windows installed properly, no errors or so. But now the graphics are not good, there are lines of dots wandering over the screen in somehow geometrical forms.

I can read everything, just doesnt look nice.

Switching the driver back to standard vga, then the problem is gone, but then the max. resolution is 1024x768.

I have updated the drivers to newer versions (both from HP and Intel) but no improvement. I read hints about nvidia or asrock drivers that might solve the problem, but nobody could tell me which one.

Hopefully there is someone here who knows what to do!

Many thanks in advance.

Ray
