ProBook 430 G2
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I have updated the ProBook's display driver from 4268 Rev.F issued on 11 September 2015 to 4300 Rev.F issued on 06 January 2016 and it seems that the graphics driver crashes upon closing the lid if login is done through the fingerprint reader with both screens open and then the laptop's screen is closed after going to the desktop.

Here's the scenario.

  1. The computer locks after a few minutes
  2. The laptop screen is opened to login using the fingerprint reader.
  3. Both the displays will rescale.
  4. Fingerprint is swiped to login.
  5. Upon going back to the desktop, the laptop lid is closed to use just the external monitor.
  6. The display driver crashes or the user will instantly be logged out.

I can just use other login methods but this one didn't happen before with the older driver. I can roll back the driver to the previous but I would like to check if there are any other insights to this.

Thanks,
