Hi all, this isn't a question but an answer to an issue*

Short Story: My touchpad wouldn't move around the screen smoothly, it was jumpy. Cause was an unofficial charger I bought off Ebay. Official charger worked fine.

Long Story: Bought this laptop recently and mousepad seemed to work fine (Apart from clicking (not clicking one of the 2 buttons but tapping anywhere on the mousepad) didn't always work). I began process of uninstalling all the 'crap' that comes preinstalled and also the huge 'Driver' programs that come preinstalled when all you want is the driver.

After I'd finished, I noticed that the mouse started to jump around the screen instead of smoothly gliding across it.

This is for my boss and there was no way he (or even I, who has a lot of patience) would put up with it. Found a post actually on this HP site (Same problem but for a different laptop) and the charger was mentioned. I'd been running the whole time with the Ebay charger (bought an extra charger to keep plugged in at the desk and the other one is for travel) and as soon as I unplugged it, the mousepad was perfect. I unboxed the official charger and tried that and mousepad was still perfect. Plugged in the Ebay one and back to jumpy.

Hope that helps someone

*As I said, I found the solution on another thread and wanted to simply reply to that one but couldn't see how I could add my own reply, maybe the thread was now locked (or more likely I'm too stupid!).
