I recently got a hp omen at first it all worked fine until i decided to install the latest nvidia drivers for the system, this resulted in a blue screen with a error message i cant quite remember, all i remember is that it started with nvida_.
ive tried a few things like updating the bios and updating intel drivers from the hp website but no luck it also doesnt show in the device manager either plugged in or not.
i have also done a full reset to factory defults though the hp support assistant
it also wont let me install the required nvida drivers either it says hardware not found, this only happened after the blue screen crash

Hello, @haiden
Thanks for the update!
I am afraid there is a hardware failure with your PC. I would suggest contacting the store if that option is available or if not, contact HP phone support for further assistance.
You can visit http://www.support.hp.com/contact-hp and fill in your product details to get the tech support number.
(1) Once the support page opens please select the country in which you're located. Next, enter your HP model number on the right.
(2) Next, choose the 'Contact Support' tab at the top and scroll down to the bottom of the 'HP Support- Contact' page to fill out the form provided with your contact information.
(3) Once completed click the 'Show Options' icon on the bottom right.
(4) Lastly, scroll down to the bottom of the page and select 'Get phone number.' A case number and phone number will now populate for you.
If you have any troubles, let me know and I will do my best to help!
Thank you again and may you also have a great day and even better tomorrow 🙂

Hello, @haiden – Hope you are well 🙂
Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips!
I understand that your HP Omen is not detecting the graphics card. I will certainly do my best to help you with this issue 🙂
Since the issue started after a recent update, I would first suggest performing a system restore to restore the system to a point before the issue. System Restore automatically creates restore points, a memory of the system files and settings on the computer at a particular point in time. Then, when you use System Restore to restore your computer to a point in time before an issue began, System Restore returns your computer to the files and settings from the restore point. Your personal files and documents are not affected.
Go to http://hp.care/2bS4d95 and follow the steps under “Restore your computer when Windows cannot start normally”.
If the issue persists, then try the following steps to fix this issue:
1) Power drain:
Go to http://hp.care/2byfHyh and follow the steps under the “Reset a laptop with a removable battery” if the notebook battery is removable or follow the steps under “Reset a laptop with a sealed or non-removable battery” if the battery is non-removable.
2) Bios defaults:
- Shutdown the computer.
- Turn the computer back on again and repeatedly tap on the ESC until a Startup menu appears.
- Press F10 once for BIOS.
- Press F9 for BIOS defaults.
- Press F10 to save and exit.
3) Install the drivers using the Recovery manager:
- In windows search and select the "Recovery Manager".
- Select the option which says "Re-install the drivers"
- Select "Graphic card" drivers and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the same.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!
Good luck 🙂

Hello, @haiden
Thanks for the update & appreciate your efforts 🙂
Try using the NVidia driver update utility to try and update the drivers: http://hp.care/2lAF3w7
If this doesn't work the last possible option is to perform a system recovery.
System recovery is the last step to troubleshoot this issue. This option reformats the system drive (usually C:), reinstalls the original operating system and reinstalls all the original hardware drivers and software. All you save files will be lost and your computer will be formatted to the day you purchased the machine.
If you have made a recovery media, then try recovery using the recovery media. Go to http://hp.care/2d8t85o and follow the steps under "Suystem recovery using the media you created".
If you do not have the recovery media, then you can try using the recovery manager to perform the same. Go to http://hp.care/2d8t85o and check the steps under "Recovery using HP Recovery Manager".
Hope that helps. Let me know 🙂
