Hi there. My baby threw a mug on my HP Laptop screen and it has gone blank since then. Probably broken. I want to ask how or where I can go fix it or replace it in Leeds, United Kingdom or let me know if I can order a replacement online . Thanks.

Yes that is what we need. This is the part:

39.6 cm (15.6-in) high-definition, BrightView LED display panel 681817-001

Link to Service Manual

I watched it and the tech follows the right procedures. This is not how they show to do it in the Manual, but is the way most techs do it and is easier.

Before buying a new screen you might want to disassemble and see if maybe the object that hit the screen just dislodged the cable? Does the screen appear broken (spiderwebbed)?

Help us help you. What model laptop is it? We can certainly find the screen online likely for much less than you fear it will be and youtube has very good instructional videos for replacing just about any laptop screen. On most models it is not too hard to do, with some exceptions.

Thanks. I want to know where I can buy it. Am not really a good DIYer so, if you can  let me know if there's a HP care centre in Leeds and their address I'd be really glad. Or a repair centre. I've searched online but found nothing useful.

The ebay link will take you to a vendor who will sell you the screen. You want to think outside of HP here. They charge too much for out of warranty repair work. You want to think in terms of a local computer or even a cell phone repair place. If you take the screen to them and ask them to install the screen you have purchased you are likely to come out of this in the best financial position.
