I haven't been on my desk top in about a week. I went on this morning no problems but then a few minutes on it started getting glitchy and static for like 1 second then it went away. Then I went off and turned off the monitor for like a few minutes then came back on and the entire screen is full of static like one of those tv horror screens. I restarted it and made sure there was no loose plugs but it kept doing it. I even turned it off for 2 hours or so and it still was the same. What do I do?

Hey there! @Sabrina1377, Thanks for stopping by HP forums!

I understand that you get static on your monitor screen.

Don't worry I will try to help you out.

Have you checked in BIOS does the static appear in BIOS?

To boot into BIOS turn on your PC, keep tapping the F10 key on the keyboard.

You will boot into BIOS check if the issue persists in BIOS.

Have you tried using a different video cable?

Also, Try connecting your PC directly to wall outlet instead of surge protector and check if the issue persists.

If the issue does not persist in BIOS try updating BIOS and video drivers and check if it helps.

Please update the video drivers using this link.

Update the BIOS using this link.

I'll keep an eye out for your response.

I hope you have a great day! 🙂
