HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently upgraded my network card to INTEL 3160.HMWWB.R Dual Band Wireless, I downloaded the latest drivers from the Intel website and the wifi bit works perfectly connecting to the 5g band but no bluetooth checked in device manager but nothing there either. Want to be able to use my bluetooth headphones.

Have you tried installing the Intel driver software for Windows 10?

Yes tried that as well the  laptop can recognise the network card and wifi  but no bluetooth, was thinking it was more that the bluetooth needs to be turned on , wifi is turned on and off with button but no button for bluetooth. Maybe there is a software solution.

HP Recommended

No bluetooth with original network adapter but replaced with one that can access faster wifi speeds and bluetooth included thought it would be just plug n play with having intel chipset and intel network adapter.

If the adapter is installed and 2.4 and 5 GHz wi-fi work, then you can consider yourself fortunate.

There actually is no 802.11ac wifi adapter that is known to be compatible with your notebook.

As far as the adapter's bluetooth feature is concerned, it appears that you now know that it does not work and you gave up bluetooth when you removed the original adapter.

There are other wifi adapters that are known to be compatible with your notebook that provide wifi and bluetooth. Check the Maintenence and Service guide to see which adapters are listed as optional.

The appropriate Maintenence & service guide for your notebook is at the following link.

That is interesting, considering your initial post.

"I recently upgraded my network card to INTEL 3160.HMWWB.R Dual Band Wireless"

You said nothing about an Intel AC-7260 adapter.  So which adapter do you actually have installed?

My adapter is intel AC 3160 but it uses the same driver as the AC 7260 and I thought lets see if the solution provided for AC 7260 works and fortuntelely for me it did.
