HP ProDesk 600 G5 MT

Hello,

We have observed both on HP and Dell laptops and workstations that if they are using Intel I219-LM NIC they intermittently do not respond to EAP Identity-Request.

We have excluded and have confirmed with Cisco and Microsoft TAC any other potential root causes and we are left with the Intel I219-LM as single common factor. We have additionally confirmed this by using Ethernet adapters/Docking stations successfully as workaround.

Multiple driver versions have been attempted but the issue persist nevertheless.

This is currently being investigated via a collaboration with Dell - Intel but we are hopeful of getting any additional information from anyone who've had this issue as it's adding unnecessary complexity to our NAC rollout and creating incidents when new devices with this NIC are not manually allowed MAB. Affected HP / Dell models with this NIC:

Dell Latitude 5540, Delll Latitude 5440 and Dell Latitude 5530 , Dell OptiPlex 3000 Small Form Factor
