HP Pavilion Gaming - 15-ec0000na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Since I've owned my Pavilion Gaming 15-ec0000na I've experienced my Bluetooth Microsoft mouse constantly disconnecting for 3-4 seconds and then reconnecting. The same has been happening with my Bluetooth headphones and a different Bluetooth mouse. The laptop came with the default Realtek Bluetooth 5 Adapter driver.

This, of course, was driving me nuts. I searched the web for solutions and found the following, in order of popularity:

  • Turning off "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".
  • Re-pairing the Bluetooth devices.
  • Updating the BIOS
  • Updating the Bluetooth adapter driver.
  • Uninstalling the Bluetooth adapter for a clean install.
  • Setting Bluetooth services in services.msc to Automatic.

None of these fixed the problem. This week, I fixed it. I downloaded an older version of the Realtek Bluetooth driver.
- Realtek Bluetooth 4.2 Adapter (version 1.7.1022.3004) - I'm sure you can find it somewhere online. If not, send me a message.

I cannot say that this driver alone fixed the issue as I carried out the above steps also. I suggest the following to anyway having this problem:

1. Download Realtek 4.2 Bluetooth Adapter driver.

2. Turn off "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"

3. Set Bluetooth Support Service in services.msc to 'Automatic'.

4. Update BIOS.

Good luck!

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

  1. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

  1. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
  2. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
  3. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also ensure Windows is up to date

Select the Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available

Dear Praveen,

Thank you for your reply, however it seems that you did not read my post at all. My issue came directly from using the latest drivers which came as standard on the laptop (and then again suggested by HPSA).

To all those poor souls experiencing this problem: do not upgrade your Bluetooth driver to version 5. Downgrade to the readily available 4.2.
