The parts list shows that HP could have installed 5 different model Wi-Fi adapters in your PC.

HP PartSurfer

Post the hardware ID for the Network Controller device in the device manager and I will post the link to the correct driver you need for it.

Use this guide for how to find the hardware ID for a device:

after checking, i own part number "600370-001". under Network Adapters, here are the hardware IDs shown for that product:

PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4727&SUBSYS_1483103C&REV_01
PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4727&SUBSYS_1483103C
PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4727&CC_028000
PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4727&CC_0280

You need this driver for that ID:

Broadcom Wireless LAN Driver and Utility

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp66001-66500/sp66445.exe

after installing, my problem still continues. im still getting no internet through my LAN cable. any other ideas?

The only suggestion I can offer would be to first install the Intel chipset driver and restart the PC.

Intel Chipset Installation Utility and Driver

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55001-55500/sp55095.exe

Then install the latest W7 Realtek ethernet controller driver directly from the Realtek site.

Download, unzip and run the setup application from the W7 driver file from the link below:

Realtek

when i tried to install sp55095, i get the message i dont meet the minimum requirements. when i tried to install the latest W7 driver file i got "Realtek Network Controller was not found." is there another file that i can install that will give me the network controller for realtek?

Doesn't sound good to me.

Could be the ethernet chip on the motherboard has failed.

Try this chipset driver and if it doesn't work either, unfortunately I won't be able to help you with the problem and consider it unfixable.

You need this Wi-Fi driver for that ID:
