I recently bought a HP Pavilion 15-aw020ca, so it''s bascically BNIB. OS is Win10, duly updated. Having problems getting HP Support Assistant to download updates, I started checking my internet connection, only to discover the adapters (both Ethernet and WiFi) labelled as #2! Anyone else having the same issue?
I checked Control Panel>Device Manager and, sure enough both Ethernet and WiFi adapters were labelled #2. I tried to change the labels via Control Panel>Network and Internet>Change Adapter Settings, but that didn't work (got a message indicating that name exists when I tried to delete the "2").
Any suggestions on how I can convince my system there is only one adapter for Ethernet and one adapter for WiFi, and how to delete the phantom "2's"?
