Hi:

Please do the following, and I will post the link to the wireless driver you need to install...

Go to the device manager, find the Other Devices category, and click on the Network Controller needing drivers.

Then click on the Details tab at the top of the Network Controller window.

Now you see a Property drop down list and it is defaulted to Device Description.

Drop down on that and select the second item on the list (Hardware ID's).

Post the top string of characters that begin with PCI\VEN.

Hi, it is still not working and I am stuck as I cannot work..

Pls help.
HP Recommended

Sorry that didn't work.

That is the driver you need for W7.

I would contact HP technical support and file a support case if your notebook is still under warranty.

HP Recommended
Yes. My laptop is still under warranty as I bought in May 2014. It says device driver was not successfully installed.

I have even reformat my whole system to start afresh but the wifi just could not work.

Something isn't right.

The hardware ID you posted indicates the device is a Broadcom wireless card, so that should be the correct driver.

HP Recommended
Now the hardware ID is as follows:

PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_A8DC&REV_00
PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_A8DC
PCI\VEN_14E4&CC_028000
PCI\VEN_14E4&CC_0280
PCI\VEN_14E4
PCI\CC_028000&DT_0
PCI\CC_028000
PCI\CC_0280&DT_0
PCI\CC_0280

I don't have access to a LAN connection now since I am overseas.

Appreciate your help.

I think the wireless card is bad or something isn't right at all.

If you look in the driver setup information file, that ID does not exist, which is why the driver isn't installing.
