Hi:

Below is the link to the product specs page.

http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-15-g000-TouchSmart-Notebook-PC-series/6875196/model/7241969/d...

According to the wireless connectivity specification it comes with a 1x1 802.11b/g/n WLAN adapter.

b/g/n adapters can only connect to the 2.4 GHz wireless band.

In order to connect to the 5.0 GHz wireless band, the adapter has to be an a/b/g/n or a/g/n adapter.

That is why you can't connect to the 5.0 GHz wifi network.

Do you know if there is a driver that will allow me to connect 5G because my 2.4G is quite slow

Hi:

It is a hardware limitation.  The wireless card does not have the capability to connect to the 5.0 GHz band.

It's not a software/driver issue and no driver will fix it.

You would have to replace the existing wireless card with a dual band wireless card and doing that would require extensive disassembly of the notebook and also running a second wireless antenna which involves even more disassembly including the display panel.

Since that model has an AMD processor, you would be limited to installing one of the dual band Broadcom wireless cards.

An Intel card won't work.

It is too much work and hassle to do that, IMO.

If you don't move the notebook around much, best to get an external dual band wireless adapter.
