Hello guys. I'm having great trouble with my laptop. I just recently factory reset the laptop and now I'm having trouble connection to wireless internet or wifi. The laptop is only giving me the options of connecting through broadband or dial-up connection and I tried broadband multiple times with still no luck of connecting to internet. I also went online to find drivers but I don't how to do any of the steps or anything pertaining to that. Please someone help me and give me an explanation and resolution.

Hi:

The parts list for your notebook indicates that it comes with a Realtek 8188GN PCIe Half MiniCard (HMC) WiFi adapter.

This would be the W7 x64 driver you need for that model wifi adapter.

This package contains the driver installation package for the Realtek RTL8188CE wireless LAN Controller in the supported notebook models running a supported operating system.

It is unusual that the factory reset didn't get the wifi to work, so I suspect there is a hardware issue of some kind if installing the above driver doesn't resolve the problem.

First of all, if the wifi driver is missing, there will be a device in the device manager labeled as a Network Controller, and it will have a little ! mark next to it.

If the wifi driver is installed, you should be seeing the Realtek RTL8188CE wifi adapter listed under the Network Adapters device manager category.

If you see neither a Network Controller with a little ! mark next to it, or the Realtek RTL8188CE wifi adapter in the device manager, then there is a hardware issue.

It might be a simple fix such as removing and firmly reseating the wifi adapter.

You can try that and see if you can leave the antenna wires connected when you do to facilitate an easy reinstallation.

Here is the link to the service manual where you can find the wifi adapter removal and replacement procedure.
