Hallo, I own a HP pavilion dv6. Normale I use to set to hibernation when I finish working. However, today as I came back home and tried to switch on from hibernation, I remarked the caps lock blinking and hard disk orange light. Is there anything I can do by myself? If not, where could I take my notebook near Cadiz, Spain? Any chance I can keep data from the HD?
Thank you,

Roberto

Hi @RobLox17

Welcome to the HP Support forum. Thank you for posting !

If I understand you correctly, the PC cannot start. Please, let me know if I am wrong. If this is the case, the problem is not related to the HDD as the PC would start anyways even without HDD.

This is happening because the computer cannot successfully start. It may be hardware problem or software problem. Did you perform some change recently ,something new these days, last hours before the issue started ?

Perform hard restart/forced reset. More info and how to here >> http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01684768/

Try also to get the battery out, wait a few seconds and return it back in.

Please, review this HP official article about such issues you experience now. Follow the appropriate steps that fit your case to attempt to fix the issue   >> http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01732674

The light emitting and the sounds are signs of serious issue - could be motherboard/BIOS or other component. Refer to the article to find out what is wrong based on the sound/light pattern.

If you did try everything but nothing helped, I am afraid you will need to bring your computer (or ship it) to service - HP Authorized service center. If the computer is still under warranty, you will need to notify HP support first. If you are not sure where such a center is located, please contact HP support for assistance in finding one. Here is more info:

Hope this helps.
