HP Pavilion 15t-n200 CTO Noteb
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I bought my laptop with Windows 7 and didn't have to bother with any passwords.  Then, I got upgraded to Windows 10 and my troubles began.  When I try to upload software, my HP notebook asks for my admin password (which is not the same as my Microsoft password).  It won't allow me to do anything beyond email, internet, documents, photos without the admin password.  I have asked Microsoft for help and the technician I spoke to told me I have to reset my computer.

Can anyone please help me?

Hi,

That is a security feature of Windows 10, nothing to do with your HP laptop. Please try the following steps:

  1. Right-click the Windows Logo (Start Button) and click "Run"
  2. Type netplwiz and click "OK"
  3. Uncheck "Users must enter a username and password to use this computer."

or try

Banhien,

Thanks for your reply.  I did what you suggested, but it took me to a window asking for my admin password.  I can logon to my computer with a pin or using a local account, but it won't allow me to upload any software without an admin password.  Apparently, it is different from my Microsoft account password.  Honestly, it won't accept any password I had on my list.
