Hello and thanks for coming to the HP expert day event. I am sure that all of our experts would love to help, however, we will need to ask if you can try to install java again and right down the error message that you are receiving. The exact verbatim error message will assist the experts with getting you the correct fix. Thanks. ![]()

Have problems with downloading Java. I had Java1.7.0 and had problems with it in pogo.com. a tech. with EA games removed it using Revo uninstaller. Since then i Cannot install java at all. (FOR 3 MONTH'S) i have been getting message "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that's unavailable. Click OK to try again or enter an alternate path to a folder cantain the installation package 'jre 1.6.0_23-c-k.msi' in the box below". When i try the same message comes up and when i try to leave I get " Error 1714 The older version of Java 6 update 30 cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group.

I understand how frustrating this can be when you have been trying to remove it for so long. I am going to do everything that I can to help you resolve this issue. I apologize, but I do not know what things you have already tried for the last 3 months. I need to ask some questions to figure out what you have and have not already done, so that I can help you finally get this resolved.
1. Have you followed the exact removal steps at this link already? http://java.com/en/download/uninstall.jsp
2. If you have followed those steps, what was the next step you took to reinstall java? Did you restart your computer before trying to reinstall java? Did you follow the install procedures at this link?
- Download and install the offline installation package from the manual download page:
Please click here for the Java download using offline installation - Please note that you will need to choose the "Save" option when downloading java from this link and save it to your local computer. The file will need to be ran/installed from your local computer.
3. What other steps have you already tried? Please be as detailed as possible so that we can move past these steps and get you a resolution to your issue.
Thank you for your patience as we work toward resolution. ![]()

I did as instructed, I saved java , restarted and tried to run it. I still get the same two messages as mentioned. I am wondering about the Revo Uninstaller that was used because no one i know has heard of it. In "Add/Remove" i have java 1.6 and java1.7 , But they are not removable. I am 70 years old and i am not computer literate as most today!

Thank you for the information on your previous troubleshooting. I believe the best next step is to see if we can perform a system restore to a time before the Revo was installed on your machine. In order to provide you with the steps to perform the system restore I will need some information about your computer. You should find a product tag on the main computer box with a serial number and product number. Please provide the serial number and product number so that I can look at your system specifications and then I will provide you with the instructions for performing the system restore.
Alternately, you can find the serial and product number by hitting the ctrl, alt, and "s" keys at the same time. Hitting ctrl+alt+s all together will bring up a window with the system information.
Thanks.

Here is a link that will explain what a system restore is: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/W
Here are the instructions for performing a system restore:
WIN 7: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docnam
WIN Vista: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docnam
WIN XP & ME: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docnam
You will want to perform the restore to a date and time before you began experiencing the issue.
