I need hardware drivers - video - chipset, etc and I have looked and Googled everywhere. Not on the Easy Setup CD or HP Drivers site. Help?

Hi:

Please post the hardware ID for the graphics adapter.

If you don't know how to do that, please see the info at the link below.

Re: Need Video Driver for Proliant ml110 G6

Ooops, sorry about that!

PCI\VEN_102B&DEV_0522&SUBSYS_31FA103C&REV_02

PCI\VEN_102B&DEV_0522&SUBSYS_31FA103C

PCI\VEN_102B&DEV_0522&CC_030000

PCI\VEN_102B&DEV_0522&CC_0300

The "Adaptor BIOS String" is "VGA/VBE BIOS, Version V3.8SL"

The "Adaptor BIOS Date" is "01/22/07"

Direct X 11 is installed

It's a "Matrox MGA G200e [Pilot] ServerEngines (SEP 1)" - that much I already know from running SIW, but no driver I have been able to find works with my server. HP lists a couple drivers for this but none for my particular machine and I have tried literally Dozens of alternate drivers with no joy.

My full OS desription is: "Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise Edition x64 Service Pack 1" if that is any help. I have even tried the drivers directly from Matrox and when the install was run then I received an error msg that "No Matrox Device Was Found" ???

My only alternative is to add a plug-in vid card, which would take up the only PCIe x16 slot on the motherboard. It just seems strange that it is soooo difficult to find ANY hardware drivers for this server/OS combination.

If Anyone can help me with this I will sacrifice a lamb in their honor ..... okay, maybe sacrifice a cheeseburger, but you catch my drift :smileywink:

Hi:

Have you tried this one?

Try manually installing it if it doesn't install automatically by clicking on the video adapter in the device manager, click on the driver tab, click on update driver, select the Browse my computer for software" method and browse to the installation folder that was created when you ran the file.

Re: Need Video Driver for Proliant ml110 G6

Thanks for your help Paul!

Yup, that was one of the first drivers I tried, but once the driver was installed graphics performance dropped dramatically, and I mean Dramatically, compared to the default Windows VGA driver.

Max resolution is limited to 1024x768, no 3D capability. Not quite what I expected otherwise I might have thought twice about purchasing this server.

Any other suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated :smileyhappy:

Re: Need Video Driver for Proliant ml110 G6

Hi:

Below is the link to the Matrox driver page.

They don't seem to support the MGA G200 card for 64 bit anything.

http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/support/drivers/latest/

I suggest you post your question in the HP Business Support Forum -- ML Servers section.

http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/ProLiant-Servers-ML-DL-SL/bd-p/itrc-264

Me?  I woujld just buy a new windows 7 capable video card and be done with it.

Best Regards,

Paul

Re: Need Video Driver for Proliant ml110 G6

Yeah, I have come to the conclusion that I'll just have to get a new vid card as well, fewer headaches and although it will use the only PCIe x16 slot on the motherboard I guess I can use USB devices for anything else I need. Thanks for your help Paul, really appreciated :smileyhappy:

Re: Need Video Driver for Proliant ml110 G6

Excellent.

Nice performing card for the money.

I got a used Dell 2400 Pro HD for $10 on eBay for an old dc7100 I wanted to run W7 on.

Plus I wanted the DVI output for HD quality.

You're most welcome.

Sorry I didn't have a free solution for you.
