HP Connection Manager Fatal Error

I have a new HP DV7 Laptop, Widows 7 premium. I clicked on and  installed the HP Connection Manager which immediately started my receiving fatal error messages about it. So I did a factory reset on the whole computer.  Like an idiot, I clicked on the HP Connection Manager again and installed it a second time.... Again Fatal Error messages. So I found an uninstall program online, Revo uninstaller, and completely uninstalled it.  So far no more errors:smileyhappy: But do I need the HP Connection Manager? What does it do? Hopefully if I need it you can help me reinstall it and make the fatal errors go away. If I don't need it, great! Just wondering if my impulsive removal was OK or not???

Re: HP Connection Manager Fatal Error

OK, thanks for the link. But my real question is do I need HP connection manager? What does it do? If I don't have it will my computer have issues?? I don't want to reinstall bloatware if it does nothing.

Re: HP Connection Manager Fatal Error

I installed it from the link, got fatal error messages again, and uninstalled it for the last time. My take-away here....it's not a necessary program if it doesn't work. I can live without it. Thanks for your help anyway.

Re: HP Connection Manager Fatal Error

Hi,

There are some things which you need to do before you will start using HP Connection Manager.

1. First download and install Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 with Service Pack 1 from here and restart system.

2. Now download andi install HP Software Framework from here and restart system.

3. When you will do above steps download and install HP Connection Manager from here.

Note:

This software allows to easy control all wireless devices, but it is not required to have it in system.

Re: HP Connection Manager Fatal Error

I know you probably thought you were rid of me:smileyhappy: but that connection manager stopped working. It would just sit there and try to open until I had to force it closed. I uninstalled it and re installed it 2 times, with no resolve. I'm frustrated! Why in the world would they put something on my computer that won't work? Help please.
