Pavilion dv4-1551dx - problem with AC Adapter!

i bought this brand new laptop and i encountered a problem with the AC adapter, it doesnt work, no charging happens, and i cannot use the power using the AC source . . . i only have minutes of usage and til now i cant use the unit. its autovolt so i guess there's no need for some adjustments in the adapter, or i just dont know since i bought it abroad, but the power requirements fits that of our power supply here, so dunno if what caused this problem. hope anybody could help me, thank you!!!
