We are trying to remotely administer some HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 Wireless A909g printers
M/N: CB023A
They print and scan fine, and we can access each printer's EWS home page.
We have been asked to make some changes, and cannot get past the EWS authentication request for username and password.
I believe it was set by a previous administrator, but the documented usernames/passwords we have on file are not working.
How do we reset the EWS password?
I <believe> the default is BLANK, but if not, what would the default password be after reset?

SOLVED!!!
So I found a post for another HP OfficeJet 8X00 series printer -
All you have to do is RESTORE NETWORK DEFAULT settings on the front control panel - this will reset them to default:
1) password access requirement is turned OFF
2) username default is ADMIN
3) password is BLANK
then, on front control panel set your IP network information, and you will then be able to access the EWS, and see all/manage all settings, including resetting the EWS embedded web server password.
NO THANKS TO HP SUPPORT

What are valid password strings for the EWS?
I can reset the printer to factory defaults and set a password like 'WillyPrint', input the 'Admin' username, but the web interface won't accept the pair.
What might I be doing wrong?
The particular printer is a HP P4015n in my case.
