HP Deskjet 712C on windows 7 (connected via USB-to-parallel converter)

I am trying to install an HP Deskjet 712C on a new Windows 7 (64-bit) computer.

I have it connected via a usb-to-parallel adapter, which the computer recognizes.

But the printer is not recognized.

I try to select the printer from a list.

The HP Deskjet 712c is not on the list, even after I click "windows update" to update the list.

Everywhere I go online, I'm told that the driver should already be included with the operating system.

I can't find it.

Is there a driver somewhere I can dnld for the HP 712c on 64-bit windows 7?

Can I refer you to:
