Setup stalls at checking network environment

[ Edited ]

Could not print today. Deleted HP from programs. Started over. Downloaded setup software from HP website. All systems go except when it gets to Checking network environment the setup stalls. My son and I are stumped. OfficejetPro8600, N911a.

Re: Setup stalls at checking network environment

I found this thread because I am having the exact same problem.  Everything was working fine and suddenly I could no longer print from my desktop computer.  Uninstalled then re-installed and it stalls at the end of "checking network environment".  I have a different printer but I bet the solution is applicable to my situation as well.

I did all what was requested, but the problem of stall persists and no listing of printers takes place.

Re: Setup stalls at checking network environment

Hello,

Can you please give some more information about deleting the registry keys. I have many many keys under the Hevelette Packard key. How do I identify the ones I need to delete? Some of those are GUIDs.

Re: Setup stalls at checking network environment

When trying to set-up again after I deleted everything it is still stalled at the "Checking network Environment" place, right in the middle it will just stay there and look like it is thinking and thinking and.......on and on.

I just need my printer installed so I can get back to work?  It all started with no IP address in the location after I had been using it on a regular basis for about 2 weeks after first installation.  It all of a sudden would not print and my print jobs would get stuck in the print queu?  It was working and scanning so awesome and all of a sudden it stopped?

I actually have the warranty to help with this stuff but have been put on hold and can't sit on hold any more.  Help!!!
