Fax face up or face down?

I have an HP 6500A.  I *think* the little icon is telling me to insert faxes face down, but I am not sure.  Do I fax with the paperwork facing up so you can read it, or down so it is hidden?

What does the manual say?  I'll have to download it and read it for you.

I don't seem to have a manual - I tried to find one online or on the HP website and could not.

3 second search on Google yields...

Page 46 says...

To send a standard fax from the printer control panel

1.  Load your original print-side down in the right-front corner of the glass or in the

ADF. For more information, see Load an original on the scanner glass or Load an

original in the automatic document feeder (ADF).

I did search Google and I did search the website.  I wouldn't lie just so you could humiliate me.  But, hey, whatever helps you sleep at night...
