Assuming this is a Laserjet M1212nf, this is what I found to help you resolve the issues you are having.

This would be so much easier if you could go to the HP support website and pull you up. Hp Tech support (4 people) could not help me with what turned out to be a simple problem. I typed the problem into the google search engine and POOF. You are awesome and should get paid more by HP.

There is a protective plastic clip over the cartridge chip. Remove the orange plastic and it will quit giving you the supply memory error. Refer to figure 6

My Laserjet M1212nf MFP is old and well used so the clips were removed long ago. However just opening it up and removing the print cartridge, and putting it back seemed to fix it. (Like rebooting a PC.)
