Multiple HP printers
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I understand that the 64 Bit HP CIO Components Installer is a universal print driver (Forum 5516763). My question is a follow-up. I show that across our network, we have multiple verions of this installer, ranging from 4.21 through 21.2.1. Is there a best practice that we should be upgrading the older versions of this installer, and if so, is there a location where we should be pulling the latest version from?

Thanks!

Hi @ITDepartment,

Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips, Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

I understand you are having an issue with installing the 64 bit HP CIO component on your PC. I'll try my best to help you with this,

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

What is the Product number of the printer and Operating System installed on the PC?

Were you able to install the printer on this computer previously?

How is the printer connected (USB/Wired/Wireless)?

If you’re running Windows, I would start by checking the installed printer software by downloading and running the HP Print and Scan Doctor. This tool can diagnose and fix many printing and printer software related issues. Please use this link to help you with that information: http://hp.care/2biN2XE

For more details please follow the steps suggested in the support document for Fix problems that block programs from being installed or removed - Click here

Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. I look forward to hearing from you.

Biswajeet,

Thanks for your note. But I think you misunderstood my post. I do not have any current issues with the install on my computer. This is a corporate wide inquiry regarding the software component that is installed on individual's computers.  To repeat my comment, I show that across our network, we have multiple verions of this installer, ranging from 4.21 through 21.2.1. Is there a best practice that we should be upgrading the older versions of this installer, and if so, is there a location where we should be pulling the latest version from?

Thanks again

Jim

@ITDepartment

It looks like you were interacting with @ITDepartment, but he's out for the day

And I'll be glad to help you out.

The Riddle_Decipher is at your service,

To clarify, you've got multiple computers and need information about which version of the printer software you need to install on your computer and from where, is that right?

If it is, the latest version should be the target/best practices and the Official HP Website for Softwares and downloads your location.

Although to provide a more accurate solution, I need the below information:

What is the product number of your device & Which operating system are you using? Use this link to find your product number: http://support.hp.com/rs-en/document/c03754824

(Do not share any personal information such as serial number, email ID, phone number or address on a public forum for your safety).

If I have helped you resolve the issue, feel free to give me a virtual high-five by clicking the 'Thumbs Up' icon below,

Followed by clicking on "Accept as solution" from the drop-down menu on the upper right corner,

Thank you for posting in the HP Support Forum.  Have a great day!
