Trying to install drivers and software for my new officejet 8702 from website but it stalls out on "preparing to install". skipped and went on but printer will only print in black and white and high draft mode. How do I get the software to finish loading??? Have an IMAC and did shut down MacKeeper but still won't load. Just keeps going on and on. Let it run for 2 hrs but no luck.  Have OS X El Capitan v. 10.11.6

Thanks,

Ron

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

According to the download site, it only supports minimum Mac OS 10.9.

http://support.hp.com/sg-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-officejet-8702-all-in-one-printer-series/9249466/...

Hence, the minimum system requirements are not met.

Thanks.

But my system is 10.11.6 which should be sufficient to run this printer. Yes?

Hi @rgabb55

My Bad, (forgot my reading glasses) 🙂

OK, can you try this:

From the Applications folder delete any existing HP Scan or HP Easy Scan app or HP Utility.
Delete HP Scan or HP Easy Scan or HP Utility by moving it to trash, then empty the trash.

Ensure the latest software is installed, use this link for your printer:

http://support.hp.com/sg-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-officejet-8702-all-in-one-printer-series/9249466/...

Remember to install HP Easy Scan as well as the essential software!

This example will show you how:

macOS X 10 11 El Capitan Download and Install Software using HP Easy Start

Also, make sure that  your drivers are up to date

> Click on the Apple icon, select About this Mac and then press Software Update
>Click Store on the top menu bar, click Reload Page, click Update All if any updated are available.

Hope that helps!
