Hi,

I am getting the  Message: There is a problem with the printer or ink system. turn printer off, then on. if problem persists, contact HP. ( no error codes)

I'm getting this constantly and have carried out printhead cleaning ,

reset... unplugging for 60 secs...... and have even carried out a full reset within the hidden menu, and purchased new ink cartridges but none of these have worked, does anyone have a solution to this issue

The troubleshooting steps in the document here may help resolve the printer failure message on your Photosmart 7520.  You may have done some of the steps already, please go through the steps in order.  If you get to step seven without resolving the issue I would suggest soaking the printhead as described in the post here.

Thanks for the advice.

i had completed all the steps but when i switched it on today it flashed up with one or more ink cartrigdes may be faulty or empty before going back to the original error message with no error codes and also at one point showed me an error message which i cant find--- 0x61000011 so i decided to uninstall the printer and then it showed the message about the cartridge being faulty or empty again.

on further investigation i relized that i didnt replace the black photo cartridge which has been in there since i bought the printer and is also a setup cartridge!!

I have ordered the black photo cartridge but wont be here until tomorrow, so here's hoping and i'll let you know the outcome

My printer is know showing the following message, One or more of the cartridges installed are genunine HP cartridges that have been used previously.?????

I just bought this new 364 multi pack the other day.

 

any other suggestions on the problem.

My two week old 8725 is also displaying the "genunine HP cartridges that have been used previously".

did you find a solution?

 

It still seems to print fine..it's the LCD displaying the message.
