I have noticed no difference between HP Officejet 7610 Wide Format e-All-in-One series Full Feature Software and Drivers available for 10.11 and HP Printer Drivers v5.0 for OS X. What is the difference betweeen the two? In addition, I am unable to locate the AirPrint driver via the instructions you have provided. I have looked everywhere via the Printers & Scanners window with no success. I looked forward to hearing back from you.

***UPDATE***

I was finally able to figure out how to get the AirPrint driver to work. AirPrint seemed to work this time and the lines printed out much more accurately upon measuring them with a ruler. My question, however, is why? What is the reason printing wirelessly works, but yet I can't print accurately by plugging in directly to my computer? If I ever have problems with my wireless network, this can become a major issue. In addition, what is the difference between those other two drivers?

Hi @BrianCasimano,

Thanks for letting me know. The drivers from HP have all the extra Bells & Whistles, including the HP Software HP Scan, and the HP Utility. The other drivers are just Basic drivers for printing and scanning.

If you have any further issues, just let me know.

Thanks!

I appreciate this informaton, however, I would still like to know why AirPrint prints the lines accurately but printing directly via USB does not? As I mentioned, this could be a major issue for me if my internet is ever down and I have a printing job that needs to be done with these labels. This is a make or break for me if there's not a solution to this.

Hi @BrianCasimano,

Here is a link explaining the Apple AirPrint drivers: AirPrint.

The only difference, I believe would be that the driver supports the network driver. I checked the website and the drivers for 10.11 are actually the 10.10 drivers.

Thanks!

Yes, I read the informatin contained in that link upon setting up the AirPrint driver but I still dont' see how this answers my question with regards to getting the same results printing directly via USB. What do you mean by "the driver supports the network driver" ? And are they ever planning on releasing newer drivers for this printer? Since HP is clearly a few operating systems behind with this printer.

Hi @BrianCasimano,

I checked with a co-worker and the USB and Wireless drivers are the same and shouldn't be affecting this. It is odd that the print is different with the connection type being used that you are experiencing. The only other thing I could suggest is to check all the settings in the application and the print driver and make sure they are the same.

You would need to check back on the website to see if there are updated drivers released for Mac by checking the version.

Thanks!

What settings would I be comparing in the application and print driver? I'm not sure what you mean by this. All I can see is that the driver for wireless is a different number than the driver for direct USB.

Hi @BrianCasimano,

I was referring to the normal settings for the media type and print quality.

I have provided a document for the different print settings available: Printing and Changing Print Settings (OS X).

If you are still having issues, I would suggest contacting HP Customer Support and they can remote into the Mac to see what is causing this issue.

Thanks!
