T1100
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently bought a used T110 from the Government.  They told me it was in excellent condition which I believe it is.  It was used only one or twice a month.  They did not tell me that they had removed the hard drive.  My question is if I buy a aftermarket harddrive, can I get the firm ware and software on it?  I believe the formatter board is good.  What kind of problems am I going to have getting this T1100 back in use?

Hi,

I am fairly certain that the HDD is pre-loaded with proprietory software and firmware and you have to purchase from HP.

I suppose it is possible ot get a 3rd party HDD but you would have to know how to get the stuff loaded properly.

Good Luck,

RoyK
