Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi

just bought an HP Envy 5540 all in one and trying to print off crosswords. The text is great but the black and white squares on the crosswords print out of alignment for some reason , strangely the horizontal  aligment is fine it's just the vertical which is out of line. Any ideas??

Thanks for taking an interest in the HP Support Forums! After reading your post I see that you are getting alignment issues while printing on HP Envy 5540 printer. I would like to help you out with this issue today.

Print a Print Quality Diagnostic report.

Clean the ink cartridges.

Align the printer.

  • Make sure to load the input tray with plain, white paper.
  • On the printer control panel, swipe the display to the left, and then touch Setup .
  • The Setup menu displays.
  • Touch Tools, and then touch Align Printer.
  • An alignment page prints.
  • Wait for the alignment page to finish printing.
  • Lift the scanner lid.
  • Place the alignment page with the print side down on the scanner glass. Position it according to the engraved guides around the glass.
  • Close the scanner lid, and then touch OK.
  • The printer aligns the ink cartridges.

Click here and follow the steps mentioned in the document to fix this issue.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers.
