We want to change IP address of HP1522mf and HP1536mf network printers/scanners device.

We have already installed scanning software on workstations XP SP3. How to set new IP address of HP device (printer/scanner) on workstations without installing complete scanning software again on every workstation.

You can change this name in the registry also;

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{6BDD1FC6-810F-11D0-BEC7-08002BE2092F}\0000]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{6BDD1FC6-810F-11D0-BEC7-08002BE2092F}\0001]

 ...

This was very helpful, it was so close, I am sure you would have found it eventually.  Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, I had the same problem with my CM 1312nfi and here is the solution:

Navigate to

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{6BDD1FC6-810F-11D0-BEC7-08002BE2092F}\0001\DeviceData]

Confirm the REG_SZ named CUEDeviceID is the device you want to change.

Update the REG_SZ named NetworkDeviceID...

Change the IP address in the string to the new IP address

eg. \hostname:NPI74FF08\ipaddr:192.168.0.25\guid:\macaddr:00237D74FF08\port:1

Change the REG_SZ named PortID to the new IP Address.

Save.

You should be good to go, try scanning, it worked for me.

Remember, "It can't be done, reinstall...", is never the right answer.

Hello bane_care,

I assume you are using static IP addresses that you are wanting to modify?

If so try following these step

Follow these steps to assign a static IP address to your HP product.

  1. Open a new Internet browser window, and type the IP address of the HP product in the browser's address bar, and then press Enter . A web page displays, showing the internal settings of the HP product.
  2. Click the Networking tab, click the Wireless tab, and then click the IPv4 tab. (Your menu path might be slightly different, depending on your HP product model.) A new settings page displays.
  3. On the page that displays, make the following changes:
    1. Set a Manual IP : Your wireless router automatically sets an IP address within a specific range (called the DHCP range). If you know what the DHCP range is, set an IP address in which the last set of numbers is outside that range, but no higher than 254. Keep the first three sets of numbers the same. If you do not know the DHCP range, select a fairly high IP address, like 250 (again, for the last set of numbers). To learn about your router's DHCP range, contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) or wireless router manufacturer.
    2. Set subnet address : Use 255.255.255.0, unless you know that it is different, in which case you should use that number.
    3. Set the gateway address and the first DNS : Enter your router's IP (can be found on the network configuration page or the wireless network test report). NOTE:Leave the second DNS field blank.
  4. Click Apply . The screen will not refresh. If you changed the HP product's IP address from what you typed into your Internet browser, you will have to type in the new IP address to access the HP product. If you did not change the HP product's IP address, wait 30 seconds after clicking Apply, and then click the Refresh button in your browser.
  5. Print a network configuration page (or wireless network test report) from the control panel on your HP product to verify that the product's IP address is what you assigned.

No, no. You do not understand.

I have already changed IP address od HP1522 and HP1536 devices.

Now, I need to change IP parameters on workstations which use those scanning  devices.

Hello bane_care

Unfortunately there is no way to change the IP address of these printers on the workstations other than by re-installing them.

Don't forgot to say thanks by giving "Kudos" to those that help solve your problems.

I have a laserjet CM1415fnw, we changed over our network and the Laserjet is on a new IP address.  We can print to it, but we cannot scan from it under any condition.

We have completely uninstalled and reinstalled the software, rebooted, disk cleaned, everything.  It still cannot scan, but it can print.

As a test, I reconfigured the entire network and the IP address of the CM1415fnw back to it's original IP.  Lo and behold it now can scan.

It seems that it is impossible for the IP address that is assigned to this printer on the computer's it was installed on to be changed.  Even after completely re-installing the sofware.

I have tested this on two different systems running Windows 7.

So what the heck?  Once I have an IP address assigned to the printer on a given computer am I going to have to reinstall windows from scratch if I need to move my HP Laserjet CM1415fnw to a new IP?

I have spent 2 1/2 hours on this tonight and I'm so frustrated I'm almost in tears.

Had same issue with HP LaserJet M1536dnf MFP printer/scanner/copier.

Runned HP software setup again, and choosed the option to connect an other HP Device.

After this (second) HP installation wizzard, the HP Scan software comes up with a screen to select a scan device:

HP LJ M1530 MFP Series Scan
HP LJ M1530 MFP Series Scan #2
