I'm trying to restore my HP 8 G2 tablet via SD slot with the following image, but keep getting the "failed to set up expected mounts for install" error so I can't complete the process.

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums. 

 

I understand that you have an HP 8 G2 1411 tablet and you are trying to restore it via the SD card slots and get an error message "failed to set up expected mounts for install." I'd like to assist you with this case.

 

A hard reboot can resolve many startup issues. Press and hold the power button for more than eight seconds. After the tablet fully shuts down, wait a few seconds, and then press the power button to turn on the tablet.

 

If the tablet does not start, continue with the steps to "Resetting with the tablet powered on." I sincerely hope this fixes the issue. Keep me posted on how it goes. Good luck!
