Pavilion 14
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a new HP Pavilion 14 notebook ( 14-dv0054TU), purchased a few days ago. The laptop is working absolutely fine except an issue which is continuing to bother me now.

The battery meter in taskbar is not updating the battery percentage during discharge cycles. For example, it stayed on 82% for over an hour, while I was working and listening songs on Spotify on loudspeaker. As soon as I restarted my notebook, it updated to 74%. Recently I discovered it updates if the HP support assistant (icon over to extreme right on taskbar) is open and battery section window is open. I could reproduce this trend over and over again while writing this query.

My older Pavilion notebook used to show estimated battery life in hours as well. I don't see this when hovered over the battery icon in my new Pavilion laptop. Is the battery still learning and calibrating itself to the usage pattern and cycles? It has been 3 charge cycles yet.

I was wondering is this normal in new laptops? Looking forward to hearing from the community and experts.
