Windows 7 - HP Color Laser 2840 - Driver Problem

I have the HP Color Laser Jet 2840 and have Windows 7 RC1 64 Bit installed. It worked quite well with the driver comming with Windows 7 (HP Color Laser Jet 2800 Series PS Version 6.1.7100.0). Only problem was that ever so often he said something about Page too complex and would not print.

I think I found out that it has something to do with the Printer memory and the Setting of the driver. The only problem is the driver allows only two settings with the Printer Memory: 384-494MB or 496-624B .. while the Printer has 96MB.

I tryed to install the universal driver. This one worked, but only in Black and White, and only over network, not USB. 

Would be nice to find our how to fix this.

  I am curious does HP have drivers for the Scanner anf Fax part of the unit or just the printer?  Can you use your scanner in Win 7?

I also do not find a scanner driver for my laserprinter. Also Fax function is not available, could anybody from hp please let us know when we can expect this support?

I still have that problem with my 2840 all in one hp colour laserjet.

I can print, I cannot scan or fax.

I use the printer in a network, using a ethernet-plug.

I just bought new toner and a drum before I installed windows 7. That is very expensive.

I use the printer many times a day as a scanner and that is impossible since windows 7 was installed.

Please can anyone of the HP-people help me?

Recently I bought a new PC running Windows 7. Installing the driver for the printing service of my Color Laserjet 2840 was not a problem. So far, it works on a nertwork conncetion without problems. The big disappointment came when I started looking for the scanner service. I started looking everywhere for the required software / driver. FInally I opened a chat session. The lady from HP had a very short answer: that software is not yet available. After all the issues I stil have to keep the scanning service up and running for my 2 laptops running Vista (unable to connect to the scanner), this means that I have to keep my XP-machine up and running in order to be able to scan documents. Mind you, we are talking 3 months after the release of Windows 7, and don't tell me that HP did not receive fact sheets and other relevant information long before Windows 7 became available for the public. This is absolutely embarising. In that respect, I fully agree with opcman: the last time I bought HP!

Has any body found a solution to the concern of not being able to scan or fax after installing Window 7?
I work with the 64-bit version. Printing is OK. Not being able to scan is very annoying. I am luck to have a laptop with XP still, but when that one is changed I am stuck.
