HP connection manager

When I try to run HP connection manager, I get an error that says "cannot load assembly CaslShared, version 3.5.1.1, culture neutral, public key token 9c6f83d5b7f3d097. The application will now exit."  OK However, my network connection seems to be working just fine. How can I get rid of this error message?

Hi!

 

I don't know if you ever received a response to the issue you're having but I have the Pavilion dv4-4032 and recently started receiving the very same pop up, with the same error message. My laptop is still under warranty so I contacted HP support today (3/19/12) and this is what they had me to do:

 

First steps were to

 

1. Go to Start and type "msconfig" in the search field.

2. This will bring up the System Configuration box.  If you see the "Startup" tab, you're good.

3. Close this box

 

Second step

 

1. Go to Start

2. Control Panel

3. Select Programs and then Programs and Features

4. Scroll down to "HP Support Assistant" and right click to uninstall

 

Third step:

 

1. http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp54501-55000/sp54620.exe

2. Click on save

3. Save it on the desktop

4. Double click on that icon

5. Then click on Run

 

Restart your computer after you have completed the above steps. You should not receive that pop-up again.

Tried  this solution to no avail.    However I first started getting this error after a de-install of Webroot 

and an install of Kaspersky.    I do not believe in coincidences and so I believe that one of these 

caused the problem.    Solution that worked for me was a simple re-install of HP connection manager! 

Hope that this is of help to others who may have gone thru the same loop!!

I tried this and received the message: Error 1316 A network error occurred while attempting to read from file ...

I tried your suggestion and it did not work for me. When I right clicked on HP Support Assistant it went through the process as if it was unistalling the program instead I receive this message.

I am not sure if you have seen my most recent post. I did a System Restore and they corrected the problem I was having with HP Support Assistant (installing).
