Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am planning to upgrade my PC Hp Pavilion 550 010il.

It's Specs : i5 4460 

                       8gb ddr3 ram

                        GT 610 ( Yeah)

So I want to upgrade to - ZOTAC GTX 1050ti

And change the current PSU which is 300w to a 500w

My question is Am I  good to go? are they supported?  Will my motherboard support it? Can I power all the components present with the PSU?

 

Is the PSU okay? 

 

And will they fit?

 

And if yes I have a monitor with a VGA input how should I connect it to the graphic card? My monitor resolution is 1366x768.

 

The purpose for this upgrade is for gaming and video editing.

 

Please help me with this.

The PSU you asked about will work. 

A PSU upgrade for your PC was discussed in the following thread.

The Zotac video card should work without problems as well. You may have tom disable the secure boot option.

 

I do have a question for you.

Why would you use a display that is only VGA and has  only 1366x768 as a maximum resolution?

It would seem to be a waste of the upgrade to the video card you have chosen. You will need a DVI to VGA adapter in order to use the old school VGA display with the new video card.

 

A display with HDMI input that has at least 1080p would be a much better plan for gaming and video editing.  A Digital display is far better than analog video.

I chose that graphic card because I want better framerate and graphics. 

And I have seen VGA to HDMI Active adapters and all..

And many people say they work.

 

So what should I do? And what do you mean by "tom disable the secure boot option" ?

With a better display, you will see the difference in high resolution that the card is capable of.

 

An VGA to HDMI Active adapter should work, but using a direct connection from port to port without an adapteris just a better option.

You will only need to consider the secure boot disable if the card does not boot up when it is plugged in.  

 

Other members in the HP forum have used the GTX1050ti  and your PC to upgrade without any issues.

Personally, I use cables between devices that have the appropriate HDMI ports. I have not used this type of device.

That is taking a big chance. If you go that route. it may damage your motherboard.  Upgrading the PSU is a wiser choice to make.

 

You still haven't said which specific Zotac GTX 1050Ti you are considering. There are different versions of the GTX 1050Ticard that Zotac makes.
