HP Z820 Workstation
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm running 2X E5-2670 0 processors. According to the specs, I can upgrade to V2 (10 cores), but I'm wondering if it would handle V3 or V4 as well, particularly the E5-2690 V4.

Thanks.

no,....the z820 bios and chipset has no support for v3/v4 xeons

and if installed you will have a system that refuses to boot

the z840 supports the v3 xeons using the x99 chipset (the z820 uses the x79 chipset)

You can upgrade to V2 if you have the 2013 bootblock date bios.

V3 and V4 run on the LGA 2011-3 socket which is incompatible with the LGA 2011 socket in the Z820.
