Resolve App and Complex Numbers

Hello !

I`m trying to solve some equations that may return a complex value as an answer, like this one:

In this equatio Sigma may be zero in some cases and then the answer is a simple Real value, in other hand if Sigma is anything but zero then the answer is a complex number.

I would like to solve this type of equation using the Resolv App interface (entering the value of the variables at the numeric view and solving for the answer), but even if I create a complex variable called "n" (eta from the greek alphabet) when I try to deal with complex numbers in the Resolv App I got an error message saying that the attempt got wrong.

Is there any way to solve equations like this (that may generate complexes answers) in the Resolv App, or any other way to do it ?

Too, you can use ... cSolve( ) command in the CAS screen by Solve Systems.

The Solve app is only a real value solver.

You can use the solve( ) command, and the csolve( ) command in the CAS screen to solve systems like this. Give that a try and if you still have problems, post back here. Thanks!
