Why pay for a new drive when you do not need one.  Just go to the hp site and download the RTL driver for the designjet 500, 510 or 800. When you go to the hp site choose support and then download drivers. Put in your model number and then select you operating system and in the list that comes up choose the very small download and when you run the program place the files in a directory you can navigate to.  I usually use the directory C:\500. After the files have unzipped, just go to add printer, choose the port to which connected and when you get to the manufacturer page just say have disk and navigate to the directory where you unzipped the files and click on the directory and then the inf file and finish up the installation.

Thank you Mikeg81, through your suggestions I "fixed" the Designjet 800 without any cost!

Well, now is a Designjet 500, but it work perfectly without any formatter board.

You can use without it & install pcl driver.

Someone on Ebay selling the brand new hd for the dj800 formatter board for $24.95 included shipping. I bought

2 & offer the seller $14 each ,  good deal.

Hi... If you have done according the manual book, you just turn off the plotter and then turn on again.

Hello Everyone,

We have just received an 800ps for free that had 05:10 error. I removed the formatter and clicked cancel. and it goes to main screen when I try to print from HP instant printing it will stay in render progress at about 90% forever. 

I am assuming this is because I don't have the proper driver installed. On the HP site I have installed the only driver available it i for 500/800/800ps.

Any solution to getting the raster drive? I am running windows 10.

If I try to print from ADOBE I get an error about printer head.

I have now loaded driver

It's the 500 driver but now I'm getting error 61:05 on printer.

Any recommendations?
