I had same error 05:10 ... so I ordered a new Disk, installed it...and now... The plotter hangs,,,, with the formatter plugged... 

Any suggestions ??

What part number did you used to order the new formatter?

Are you using a new formatter, refurbished, used?

I bought only the disk at Ebay

First the plotter gave me the 05:10 error... I dismounted the formatter, took out the memory and reinserted. Took out the hard disk and reinserted... plug it again and the system hanged out..

So I bought the disk at Ebay, placed on the formatter, plug the formatter in.... and no change... the system hanged out..

Maybe the formatter had an error since I took out the memory and the original disk......

Hi,

If you want to use the printer with the formatter order the part C7769-60259

If you dont want to use the formatter, remove it, hit ok on the panel when you get the 05:10, the printer will come up ready.

Install the PCL3 driver and you will be able to print just fine

It's very interesting what you have written here. I have also such a problem with a Designjet 510 ploter, but I can't fix it, although I have tried many times. Moreover, I have found informations that raster drivers are not available for Windows 7. So I would ask you, how exactly have you fixed your machine, or where have you the raster driver from? Could you desribe the way to make the ploter working without a card step by step? I will be very grateful for your response.

Hello,

I had the same problem with a Designjet800.

To get around the 05:10 warning I followed your suggestion; I took off the formatter board and press the Cancel button, then Enter.

Now I need a raster driver, but where can I find it? I need a Designjet  500 driver?

Hi,

Yes, you need the driver for the DesignJet 500

Just turn the printer off, remove the formatter, turn the printer on, hit ok when the 05:10 comes up and you will be ok to print
