Hi there @junior19805,
Welcome back to the HP Support Forums! I understand that you are asking about removal of the graphic card mounting brackets to improve airflow. I am happy to help with this.
There are a few issues with this. First the mounting bracket holds the card firmly in place in its socket to maintain a good connection, and prevent socket creep. Secondly, although it may seem counter intuitive, removal of the back plate on the computer can actually impede the cooling system, as the positioning of the various fans and intake vents, are often designed to channel the air flow so it travels over the components that most need cooling.
All of that being said, you can always try it and see if there is an improvement in your case, but the possibility of an intermittent graphics connection is going to be a concern
Please let me know whether that works for you, and if it does resolve your issue, please mark this post as a solution. Kudos would also be appreciated.

thanks for the heads up,
i never realy had any issues with overheating but just though id ask,
i'll leave the bracket in place as i deffinately dont want to cause any harm to the socket on the motherboard or the card itself,
many thanks,
