HP prodesk 600 small
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have HP prodesk 600 small desktop with Intel i7 7700 processor. I want to upgrade my computer so that i can use windows 11. can i upgrade my processor to i7 8th gen or i7 9th gen processors? If i can't, which motherboard should i prefer? Or, can i use windows 11 without upgrading to 8th or 9th gen proccessors?

Unless you have a HP Prodesk 600 G4, there are no supported W11 processors you can upgrade to.

If you are interested in installing W11 on your PC as is, you can read this discussion for how I upgraded several HP and Dell notebook and desktop PC's that did not meet the W11 hardware requirements to W11 22H2/22H3.

You have to use the version of the Rufus utility that I zipped up and attached in the discussion (v3.18).

If the in-place upgrade fails, you should be able to clean install W11 using the bootable W11 installation flash drive you made with Rufus.

I am running W11 23H2 on my HP Elitedesk 800 G3 (slightly upscale model of the Prodesk 600 G3) and it works fine.
