Is the HP 656846-001 motherboard a satisfactory replacement for the HP 656846-002 motherboard for my desktop PC?

If you are in north america the link to HP part surfer, from last post, will allow you to order to part.
No you will not lose any functionality by using -001 or -002.

Per Hp part surfer the 656846-002 is the replacement mother board for HP PAVILION P7-1180.
