I keep having problems watching videos. They keep pixilating. I need to update my video card driver. I have a Compaq Presario and am using Windows 10. Can anyone help guide me through the update?

If you wish to know about a discrete graphics card that would work, then most older simple cards will probably work.
Here is a site that lists suggested cards.

The GeForce 7000 series and GeForce 8000 series are relatively cheap on EBay.
IE: NVIDIA GEFORCE 7900 or Nvidia GeForce 8300
just be sure it is PCIE PCI Express Video and not a AGP

The cure may/may not solve with a driver update but a model number for the Compaq Presario is needed to find them.

I think the probable reason for that situation is Windows 10 does/did not support the graphics in that model and in turn installs a Windows generic driver. Integrated graphics using nVidia GeForce 6150SE
There are some workarounds

beyond, GPU driver bad, wrong or corrupted above..... is this.
please answser some basic questions. ok?
what videos? (local files?) mkv? mp4? or ?
or on the www, called streaming.
for local files use VLC, from makers site in France.
for online streaming tell us:
what OS you run, window? version? windows 10 is in your post but is it? really 10?
what broswer you run, IE-11?, Edge, chrome, firefox v65+ , Opera, or?????
what internet connections>(DSL,Cable modem, Fios fiber, 3/5G Wlan card, wifi ? , or etherenet (best) connected to the modem.
As you can see we need to know what you have there, and even if you are at home, at the airport or starbucks.
wifi , if wifi, tell where, you are, ( at home, near the router, or far)
g'dday and good luck.

Yes, my operating system is Windows 10. These are simple Youtube, Facebook type videos. Nothing fancy. I use Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. I had no problems until about two weeks ago. DSL. I'm not computer savy so some of the stuff you are asking goes over my head. This is my desktop computer. Compact Presario model CQ5210f.

I would assume that an update is what upset the card. Of course you can eliminate the problem by installing a simple descrete graphics card instead of using the onboard graphics.
