hp all in one
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My Dad has a HP all in one that came with Windows 10 installed. The HD died and I replaced it with an SDD.

His HP came with a thumb-drive. Might this contain a Windows 10 installe? Or is there a free and easy way for me to help him to reinstall windows 10? I don't think he has a serial number for Windows 10 as it was already installed.

Please help.

Best,

Christopher

There is no charge for windows 10 or 11 if you were licensed for 10 (or even 7) originally.

go here

https://d34z73bbtpzgej.cloudfront.net/

and put in your dad's product ID and see if there is a restore option

If  not, then just re-install windows 10

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

You did not mention the product ID or model but in any event you could upgrade to windows  11

https://jensd.be/1860/windows/upgrade-to-windows-11-22h2-on-unsupported-hardware

If you provide the product ID then the correct drivers could be located probably here

Thanks so much for your response.

Just one clarification: when you say enter my dad's product id, is that for the hp computer or windows 10 or something else?

Thanks again!
