Hi All,

Can anyone tell me how to get rid of the pop-up asking me to register my product. All my HP stuff is registered (and out of warranty) but day in-day out it returns to my screen even though I have clicked "Don't ask me again" on every occasion. I'm regarding it as an annoying little 'virus' now.

Any deletion tips would be appreciated before I 'fall out' with HP!

Regards,

Justin

Hi jmjb,

These entries in task scheduler are often prefixed with webreg and should be deleted.

The link below may be useful.

Hope this helps,

Hello jmjb, This may be caused from an entry(s) in the Task Scheduler. You might take a look at the below information and see if these will help resolve the issue.

To get rid of it, you need to be logged on with Administrator priveleges, then do the following:

1. Click Start, type the following "Task Scheduler" (without quotes) in the search field and press enter:

2. Click Continue to confirm permission, if requested to do so.

3. Click Task Scheduler Library in the Left column.

4. Click on any of the following in the center column, or all if you don't want or have a need to have any Schedlued Task.

Just select delete in the lower right corner of the window.

a. InternetService Offers (If your pop-up is regarding the internet)

b. Registration (If your pop-up is regarding registering your PC)

c. Service Plan (If your pop-up is regarding warrenty)

d. Extended Service (If your pop-up is regarding extended service plans)

You can delete any of these Task that you do not need or want to run.

Hope this helps.

Hi Hanspuppa,

Thank you for your help. Unfortunately I can't see anything that relates to HP or any of the subjects you have listed in your post in the Task scheduler library???

Any other suggestions will be gratefully received.

Regards,

Justin

Hanspuppa & David,

Thank you very much for your input. It's been over 24 hours since I saw the dreaded HP pop up so your guidance may just have worked! 🙂

Much appreciated,

Justin
