Is there a quick way yo transfer a large folder (53gb) to a flash drive.
Copy and paste seems to take hours and hours

HD Tune (free version 2.55) will report your data speed of connected hard drives/thumb drives.

That is an interesting question.
Generally speaking, it depends on three things.
The type of usb storage device you are connecting to the PC . USB 3.0 and 3.0 (Type C) are the fastest
The power of the CPU and chipset in your desktop. At least a quad processor and fast chipset.
The type of disk that contains the folder. The M.2 NVMe SSD is currently the fastest ssd o the planet. SATA600 is the norm and the next fastest.
Otherwise you will indeed will be waiting for hours.

I don't know that this File Manager is any faster than the default one in Windows, but lately, I have been using it a lot and like the details it provides.
