bought this monitor from best buy a few weeks ago, connected via HDMI to my desktop. i had read up a little on my issue, but hadn't found a fix, and had read that HDMI sometimes has a problem with monitor sounds
if there isnt actually a fix, and its just noises and not damage happening, i suppose the noises arent that bad
i have tried disabling the monitor's audio via windows' playback devices, noises happen anyway.
the noises are usually a pop sound, but sometimes (i think toward the top) is more of a crackle, somewhat like a house-settling sound
i also turn it off at night because sometimes the pops are bad for my bed time (it still pops in sleep mode)

Hi there @poppop25,
May the Forums be with you! It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel. I understand that your display speakers are making various sounds when idle. I am happy to help with this.
Start with: HP Flat Panel Monitors - Troubleshooting Sound Problems with Monitor Speakers. Also make sure that your drivers for the display are up to date. HP 25es 25-inch Display
You should also make sure that any other drivers on your computer are also up to date.
If the issue remains, then try going through these as well: HP PCs - Computer Is Slow (Windows 10), HP PCs - Slow Internet Troubleshooting (Windows 10, 😎. They can help isolate or remove a possible software or driver issue that could be causing the issue.
Please let me know whether that works for you, and if it does resolve your issue, please mark this post as a solution. Kudos would also be appreciated.
