Does the Pavilion p6714y desktop support dual monitors?  If so, what must be done to connect a second monitor to this old desktop?  (I am a bit hardware illiterate).  :smileyembarrassed:

Eileen, welcome to the forum.

 

Yes, but there is only one VGA port in the Back I/O ports.  You will have to buy a new video card or a USB 2.0 video adapter.  Here are some adapters at StarTech.  I suggest using their Chat Live option to speak to one of their Techs.
